WHY WE EXIST

Because children inherit
the world we create.

A child adding a brushstroke to a collective canvas

Every war reaches children. Then peace and a healthy future must reach them too.

— SUNIL MACWAN
FOUNDER

Every conflict reaches children. Every war reaches children. Every division, hatred, and failure of leadership eventually reaches children.

Some lose their homes. Some lose their health. Some lose their families. Some simply grow up believing conflict is normal.

Yet while the consequences of war and suffering are shared globally, efforts toward peace are often passive, fragmented, or forgotten altogether.

One Stroke World was created from a simple belief: if conflict can spread across generations, then peace can too.

This is a Canadian-led humanitarian art initiative that brings people together through one shared act — contributing a single brushstroke to a collective canvas and making a public pledge for peace.

THE PROCESS

THE ROADMAP • THE LEGACY
Phase 3
Beyond Fundraising — Building a Global Peace Movement
A Permanent Movement • The Horizon

One Stroke World was never created to become a fundraising organization. Our mission is to build a lasting global movement that inspires people to choose peace, harmony, and understanding through collective participation.

During Phase 1 and Phase 2, collaborative paintings will be created across communities, with proceeds from their sale or auction supporting children’s wellbeing and humanitarian initiatives. This lets every brushstroke create an immediate positive impact while helping establish the movement, demonstrate transparency, and build public trust.

However, fundraising is not our long-term objective.

As One Stroke World grows, the focus will shift from selling artwork to creating a self-sustaining global culture of peace. Once the movement has gained sufficient momentum, the fundraising model through artwork will conclude, and the collaborative painting experience will become an annual tradition that communities organize independently.

Our vision is for schools, universities, municipalities, cultural organizations, businesses, and community groups around the world to adopt the One Stroke World experience as a recurring event — bringing people together each year to make a personal commitment to peace, contribute a single brushstroke to a shared artwork, and spark meaningful conversations about respect, inclusion, cooperation, and non-violent conflict resolution.

The collective paintings will remain powerful symbols of unity — but the true legacy of One Stroke World will be the communities it inspires, the conversations it creates, and the culture of peace it helps build.

As the movement matures, our efforts will increasingly focus on strategic peacebuilding initiatives, educational programs, community partnerships, youth engagement, research, and practical projects that strengthen harmony within communities and encourage peaceful dialogue across cultures.

Where We’ll Focus
Peacebuilding Initiatives Educational Programs Community Partnerships Youth Engagement Research Peaceful Dialogue Across Cultures
Our Goal — Simple Yet Ambitious

To make the act of painting one brushstroke for peace as recognizable and meaningful as any cherished annual tradition — a lasting global symbol reminding every generation that peace begins with individual action.

The Journey At A Glance

Launch across Canada, build awareness, and support children through collaborative artwork.

Phase 2

Expand internationally, establish global recognition, and complete fundraising through collaborative paintings.

THE FOUNDER

Sunil Macwan

Sunil Macwan is the founder of One Stroke World, a Canadian humanitarian art initiative incorporated in April 2026. Born from a deep conviction that art can move people where words fail, Sunil created OSW to build a living record of humanity's capacity for peace — one brushstroke at a time. Based in Guelph, Ontario, he leads the initiative from the ground up, beginning with Canada's communities before taking the movement to the world.

The Peace Pledge

Every stroke on every canvas begins with a promise.

Loading pledge count...
Why a Pledge?

Before any participant adds their stroke to a One Stroke World canvas, they make a personal peace pledge. This is not a signature or a transaction — it is a conscious commitment to contribute, in your own life, to a more peaceful world. The pledge is personal. The painting is collective.

I Pledge To:

By signing below, I join a global community who believe the world our children inherit must be a peaceful one.

Sign the Peace Pledge

I have read the pledge above and sign it with intention.

Your pledge is recorded with your name, city, and country. Your email is private and used only for confirmation.
